Pulse Vet Shockwave Therapy

This is the Gold Standard in shockwave therapy.  A focal area of sound waves are applied to the body that treats orthopedic conditions as well as wounds in animals. Unlike other types of shockwave therapy designed for lithotripsy, where shockwaves disintegrate kidney stones, electro hydraulic technology is designed to stimulate tissue and bone formation. Vet Shockwave therapy is a procedure utilized to speed healing and mange pain and resolve lameness in horses, dogs, and cats with just a little as 1-3 treatments. Therapeutic results have been achieved by suing the Pulse Vet Shockwave to treat the following conditions in horses:

*Tendinopathies with and without calcification
*Insertion desmopathies (suspensory injuries)
*Joint synovitis
*Extoses
*Ringbone
*Kissing spines
*Navicular or caudal heel pain
*Splint fractures
*Back pain
*Wounds

According to the AAEP, shockwave therapy in horses is a non-invasive treatment option which uses shock waves to promote the healing of joints, ligaments, and tendons. The goal of SW Therapy is to increase blood flow, improve the growth of new blood vessels, providing pain relief, reducing inflammation, and promoting a healing environment in the animal being treated. In addition to its use for injuries, SW therapy is often used for horses in heavy work with the owner looking to help avoid sports related injuries by maintaining elasticity in the tendons and ligaments and keep the horse from being sore.

The healing effects of Pulse Vet Shockwave Therapy include:

*90% success in treating chronic back pain and kissing spines
*Faster healing in tendon and ligament injuries
*81% improvement in horses with navicular syndrome
*50% faster healing of collateral ligament injures

Typically only 1-3 treatments are needed for full healing.

The average treatment is about 1000 pulses and takes about 5 minutes. Most animals do not require sedation.
